Maura Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rob Jackson, celebrated her 7th birthday Saturday, May 24, with a "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" swim and slumber party.

Maura's home was decorated with pink and purple balloons, streamers, confetti and other theme decorations. As Maura's friends arrived, they began the party swimming and playing.

For dinner, Maura's father grilled hot dogs and hamburgers that were served with all the trimmings for the guests to enjoy.

After dinner the girls decorated their own cupcakes with frostings and sprinkles and later took turns trying the burst the party piñata. The girls enjoyed a movie and popcorn at the end of the evening.

Breakfast was served the following morning.

Before leaving, all guests received a goody bag and signed a birthday party frame given to her by Mr. and Mrs. Roger McAvoy and daughter Abby. The frame, with each girl's signature, will hold a photo of the girls taken during the party.

Maura's guests included Mrs. Billy McAvoy, Mr. and Mrs. Casey Jackson, Madeline and Ella, Kathleen Storrin, Alli Bennett, Ashlyn and Alyssa Holley, Samantha Wheatley, and Laney Thornton, all of Washington-Wilkes.
