2008-06-12 / Sports

A.H. Stephens State Park will host the Annual Senior Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, June 21.

Registration will be held from 7:30-7:55 a.m. and the fishing tournament will be from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the largest fishand for the oldest fisherman. There will also be a door prize drawing for participants only.

"Lake Liberty is restocked every year with 2,000-3,000 catfish,"said Andre Mclendon, assistant park manager. "We expect the veterans to show the kids how it's done and put a dent in this catfishpopulation." Fishermen must be 55 or older to enter the tournament. Admission is free but there will be a parking fee of $3.00 per vehicle.

The lake will be open to the general public after the program.
