William T. Johnson honored at 85th birthday celebration The Bible Explorers Sunday School Class enjoyed a Bible study and an 85th birthday celebration honoring William T. Johnson on Monday evening, June 9, in the Mary Callaway Burton Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church. Bob Simmons welcomed everyone and led the group in a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" for Mr. Johnson. A delicious covered dish dinner was enjoyed. Lemon and pineapple cake was served with vanilla, mint chocolate chip, and buttered pecan ice cream for dessert. After dinner, Deborah Prince, program chairman, presented King Gorman who presented the study, "Importance of Faith." Present for the event were Mr. Johnson, Bob and Lynn Simmons, Jane Garner, Shelley and Butch Caps, Bettye and Travis Armour, Janet Clayton, Mary Olive Ray, Di- Anne Jackson, Deborah Prince, Ann Mansur, King Gorman, also Ensey Wills of Milledgeville and Scarlett Yeargin of Elberton. |
