W-WPRD announces upcoming activities, programs
      The Washington-Wilkes Parks and Recreation Department (WWPRD) has announced the following activities and programs which will be coming up in the next few weeks. Fun In the Sun 2008 Fun in the Sun 2008 will be an event of Saturday, August 16, and is billed as "a family fun-filled day." The fun will begin in the Liberty Street Park at 12 noon and continue until 4 p.m.

As Tiger football season looms, team prepares for lift-a-thon
      Believe it or not, Washington-Wilkes Tiger football is just around the corner and preparations for the 2008 season are already being made by both the coaching staff and the players. Season tickets have been ordered and will go on sale in the near future and in the meantime, voluntary field and weight room workouts are getting the Tigers in shape.
