Fishing Creek Baptist to celebrate homecoming July 27

DR. MICHAEL GUIDO DR. MICHAEL GUIDO Fishing Creek Baptist Church will be celebrating its homecoming on Sunday, July 27. The speaker for the occasion will be evangelist Dr. Michael Guido of Metter.

Guido, voted Citizen of the Year in his hometown, is a 1935 graduate of Moody Bible Institute.

Guido's devotional column appears in more than 1400 newspapers worldwide in both English and Spanish.

For over 50 years, the lecturer, author, and electronic evangelist has been bringing words of courage and faith to millions through his Gospel ministry based in the south Georgia town of Metter.

Today, Guido's broadcasts penetrate the seven continents of the world and are heard on over 400 radio stations. His telecast is seen throughout the world in over 200 million homes and on the U.S. Armed Forces Radio and Television Network.

The Guido Evangelistic Association also publishes "Seeds from the Sower" messages in free devotional booklets and provides them to missionaries, ministries, and lay people.

The Guidos' three-and-a-half-acre Metter complex contains a beautiful glass chapel located on Georgia's Highway 121. The chapel is open to visitors day and night.

One thousand guests per month come to the Guido complex from all over the world, including celebrities, tour agencies, and church groups. The Guido Evangelistic Association has celebrated 50 years of broadcasting the Gospel.

The homecoming worship service at Fishing Creek Baptist Church will be held at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a barbecue pork and covered dish lunch.

Immediately following lunch, the Weaver Family will be in concert. The family consists of Paul and Chris Weaver and their eight children.

The Weavers reside in the northeast Georgia mountains. They instilled the love of music in their children at a very young age. From the time they were little, they were taken around to sing to shut-ins, nursing homes, and small groups.

The family sings and plays Southern Gospel music in a bluegrass style.
