Burton tells club of duties

Wilkes County Probate Judge Jim Burton spoke to the Washington Rotary Club at its regular Thursday lunch meeting and told member about the history of his office and the various duties he performs as Probate Judge. He explained that before 1975, the position was called the County Ordinary and since that time he is only the second person ever to serve as Probate Judge in Wilkes County. Burton will retire from the position at the end of this calendar year. Joe Harris (left) was program chairman for the day.
