Genealogy, lineage workshop set at library on August 8-9
A free genealogy and lineage workshop sponsored by the GASSAR, the Samuel Elbert Chapter SAR, and the Kettle Creek NSDAR will be conducted at the Mary Willis Library August 8-9. The workshops are open to the public and will include handouts to assist the at- tendees to pursue family research for personal use and for preparation of documentation required for lineage organizations.
Friday, August 8, 1-4 p.m., the genealogical workshop will place emphasis on the tools and techniques necessary to pursue family research. The workshop will be conducted by a certified genealogist of the SAR and supported by DAR genealogists.
Saturday, August 9, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., the lineage workshop will place emphasis on preparing lineage applications and determining the necessary documentation. This will be a one-on-one workshop assisting individuals in preparing their applications for a lineage organization.
