The Sunday morning service at Sardis Baptist Church was good with Joyce Fry leading the songs with Pam Hall playing the piano. Rev. Jim Newsome held the children's portion of the service at the altar before they went down to the annex with Cody Armour and Dylan Armour for children's church. The sermon was "It Will Not Be Forgiven," from Matthew 12:31-32. Lyn Armour reported that in Sunday School, three classes had 100 percent present and invites everyone to Sunday School every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. A class is also held at the Echols Home for the residents and their visitors with Nina Boatwright as the director. The Sunday evening service was also very inspiring. Prayer meeting is every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. .Ruth Rogers is directing a Bible Study every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. We are learning many interesting things about Jesus' life in the Book of Mark. We will have four more sessions and anyone who is interested is invited to attend. Those attending Tuesday of last week were Ruth Rogers, Peggie Walker, Kay Berry, Denise Armour, Audra Chapman, Sue Land, Amanda Land, Nicky Sanchez, Avery Slotterback, Rose Slotterback, and Bonnie Boatwright. .Ethan Armour was honored at his home with a steak supper for his 18th birthday Friday evening. Helping Ethan celebrate were his parents, Tracy and Denise Armour; brothers, Justin and Jackson; and joining them were Taylor Echols and Audra Chapman. .A group of 4-H'ers enjoyed going to Atlanta to the Braves game Saturday evening. From our community were Denise Armour, Justin and Jackson Armour, Audra Chapman, Avery Hall, Hunter Armour, Dylan Armour, and Erin Thornton. .Lyn Armour celebrated his birthday Sunday, July 20. .Bill and Hope Remsen and Delaney of Evans came Sunday for a visit with Peggy Echols and enjoyed supper with her. . Bonnie Boatwright went over to Bogart Wednesday afternoon to visit her sister, Martha Jones. They went to the Cracker Barrel for lunch where they were joined by their sister, Frankie Jones of Athens. They were celebrating Bonnie's birthday which was July 6. The waiters and waitresses sang "Happy Birthday" to Bonnie and gave her a special dessert. On the way home from Bogart Bonnie stopped in Crawford to visit with one of her classmates, Joyce Pledger Silvey, from grade school. Another classmate, Frances Landrum Campbell, who lives nearby came over for a visit while Bonnie was there. We had a good time reminiscing. .Shirley Chafin, Ronnie, Racquel, and Haley spent several days in Clarkesville and Helen and enjoyed hearing Aaron Tippins and Marty Stevens at the Hiawassee Fair. .Troy and Shirley Chafin had all their children and their families with them for supper Sunday night. .Bonnie Boatwright enjoyed Sunday dinner with Lamar and Kay Berry and Trey. Brooke Berry, Kaitlyn and Bryson Porter were also there. .Roselle Burt of Thomson came and spent the afternoon Tuesday with Sybil Vaughn. Betty Berry also visited. .Tommy and Geneva Cummings of Greensboro and Dub Anderson of Atlanta, cousins of Sybil Vaughn and Betty Berry, came Saturday to visit. Joining the cousins and Betty and Sybil for lunch at Sybil's house were Tom and Sandra Parker, Donnie and Kris Berry and Lee Parker, Bradley, Tristan and Lila. .Johnny and Kathryn Shedd, Tim and Gail Stewart, Alyssa Stewart and Hannah Wright attended the funeral of Judy Harrison Paul Sunday at Sandy Cross Baptist Church in Oglethorpe County. The family has our deepest heartfelt sympathy. . Sandy Whittington and Zachery Frankel attended a barbecue at the home of Arnold and Dorla Adams Saturday honoring Arnold and Rosalyn Adams for their birthdays. Other friends and family members also came for the celebration. .Zachery Frankel spent Friday and Saturday nights with Clyde and Sandy Whittington. Fred Weidner spent Friday through Sunday with the Whittingtons. Sunday, Neil and Kim Frankel, Zachery, Kyle and Bryce, joined them for the day. .Buck and Linda Echols' company Sunday were Greg and Angela Armour, Cody and Hunter, Scott and Sissy Smith, Abby and J.T., and Lou Heard, Mattie and Hank. .Bobby and Debra Armour, Amber, Rebecca and Raeleigh, and Frances Fendley enjoyed going to Cherokee, N.C., and seeing the Indians and other sights. .Bonnie Boatwright enjoyed visiting Ruth Flynt Monday afternoon of last week. .Kaitlyn and Bryson Porter visited their daddy, Demetrice Porter, and grandmother, Rosemary Gresham, in Washington several times during the week. .Prayers continue for Linda Stevens, Nina Boatwright, Joyce Bowen, Kathryn Padgett, Gary Rogers, Mike Webb, Nancy Moon, Cindy McCarty, Velma Crook, Chris Charping, Sherry Newsome, Sallie Mae Arnold, Eric Arnold, Bonnie Boatwright, and all the sick and bereaved. .Wilda Boatwright and Sudie Kennedy visited Hazel Webb in Thomson Thursday. .Bill Kennedy, Hannah and Grace, of Bluffton, S.C., came and spent the day with Sudie Kennedy Monday.
