Bethel Methodist sets homecoming for this Sunday
Bethel United Methodist Church located at 3684 Scull Shoals Road, Washington will have homecoming on Sunday, July 27, at 11 a.m.
The homecoming service will be led by Rev. Richard Broom, new minister for the Little River United Methodist Charg e . A covered dish dinner will be served immediately following the morning service.
Revival services will begin Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. and continue through Wednesday night with Rev. Charles Robinson as guest speaker. Rev. Robinson is a former pastor of the Little River Charge which serves Bethel, Mt. Zion, Smyrna, and Pierce's Chapel Methodist churches.
He was appointed senior pastor at the Jonesboro First United Methodist Church in June 2004. Prior to that he was the senior pastor of Midway United Methodist Church in Alpharetta for nine years. He is a native of Atlanta and has an AA degree from Oxford College of Emory University; a BA in Religion from Emory College, and a Master of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory. He was ordained an Elder in the North Georgia Conference in 1979 and presently serves on the board of managers of the Georgia Pastors School.
He was married to the late Kay Baxley of Atlanta, and has two sons and three grandchildren.
