Melody M. Gartrell Rodney O. Jones Melody M. Gartrell and Rodney O. Jones of Conyers announce their plans to marry.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Cora Gartrell of Washington and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Norman of Lincolnton. She is the granddaughter of the late Sarah Frances Gartrell of Washington, the late Willie Joe Gartrell of Washington, D.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Phil Norman of Lincolnton.

Miss Gartrell is a l998 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School and a 2002 graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta where she earned a Bachelor of Business in Accounting. She is employed as Accounting Supervisor at KPMG, LLP, in Atlanta.

Mr. Jones is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jones of Washington. He is the grandson of Mrs. Virginia Davis of Teaneck, N.J., Marie Willis, the late Annie Liza Haynes and the late Moddie Davis of Washington.

He is a l989 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School and attended Augusta Technical College in l996 and l997. Mr. Jones is Sales Manager with United Insurance Company in Stone Mountain.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, September 20, at 5:00 p.m. at The Pope Center in Washington.
