Wheelis Women on Mission group meets at Bishop home

The Frances Wheelis Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church met in the home of Teresa Bishop on Monday evening, July 7.

Louise McClearen presented Gail Duggan who gave a most interesting report on the church youth and their trip to Centrifuge at West Palm Beach, Fla. The youth participated in varied types of mission activities during the week while establishing friendships with other groups from all over the eastern coast. Mrs. Duggan closed her program in prayer.

Melanie Wells presided and led the members in the WMU Watchword. Susan Pope offered the opening prayer.

Following a short business meetdren's ing during which mission action activities were planned, Mrs. Bishop led the prayer calendar focusing on Acts 21:10-11 and work in West Africa. After names of missionaries were given and those with special needs named, Cheryl Edwards closed in prayer.

Hostess, Jackie Gillispie, assisted by Mrs. Bishop, served delicious refreshments during a time of fellowship.

Present with Mrs. Bishop were Cheryl Edwards, Susan Pope, Jackie Gillispie, Deborah Prince, Shelley Capps, Melanie Wells, Kay Nelms, Priscilla Moore, Louise McClearen, Gail Hunter, Julia Palmer, Sue Lance and Rosemary Hopkins.
