Tech. Sgt. Jamie Craig Atkinson of Washington has received the Air Force Commendation Medal. He is a member of the 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard and is a supervisor in the 165th Emergency Management Flight, 165th Civil Engineering Squadron.

Atkinson currently holds the rank of Technical Sergeant, has been a member of the 165th Airlift Wing since March 2002, and has previously served in the Georgia Army National Guard and the United States Naval Reserve.

He is married to the former Jennifer B. Lance of Lexington, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Atkinson Jr. of Guyton. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Asbell of Meldrim, the late Mr. John A. Atkinson Sr. of Savannah, and Mr. and Mrs. Ratchford P. Buckner of Meldrim.
