Conduct drivers license business from comfort of home computer
The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) reported that over six thousand Georgia drivers have conducted their licensing business from the comfort of their home or office via the Agency's website www.dds.ga.gov.
"DDS has created a quick, secure and convenient way for our customers to conduct their licensing business any time of the day or night, even during holiday closings. By allowing thousands of Georgians to initiate a change of address or other transaction online means we will have a better ability to more quickly serve those who must come in person to one of our centers," said DDS Commissioner Greg Dozier.
The online transactions as of the week ending July 6 were as follows:
Address Change Requests... 1,360 Replacement License
Requests................................ 451 Driving History Access........... 225 Password Requests.................. 978 License Renewal (after
receiving Application)........ 3,502
Total..................................... 6,516
DDS customers may also monitor their scheduled road test reservations, access the most recent version of the Georgia Driver's Manual, and provide customer feedback at www. dds.ga.gov.
DDS sends out Automated Renewal Applications to those that are eligible to renew online (or via mail) about 60 days before the license expiration. The Application contains individualized instructions for renewing a license without a trip to a customer service center (CSC).
