A memorial service for Rachel Treadwell McGee Owensby, 75, of Washington, was held Sunday, August 3, 2008, at Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington. She died Friday, August 1, at the University Hospital, Augusta.

Mrs. Owensby was a native of Monroe and was the daughter of the late Obie Ioa Treadwell and Mary Alice Jones Treadwell. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie M. McLeod, and her husband Greg of Washington; a son, Jimmy McGee and his wife Nancy, Watkinsville; two sisters, Rose Johnson, Watkinsville, and Janice Brooks, Douglasville; and six grandchildren, Matthew McLeod, Morgan McLeod, Corey Bridges, Wes McGee, Tyler McGee, and Julie McGee.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
