Sodom and Gomorrah

Society has a tendency because of unbelief to think that the stories of the Bible are just fairy tales -- fables to be told just as moral examples. Either you believe they are true or you don't.

If you don't believe the Bible, then none of it is any good to you. Our faith in the Lord God is what our whole Christian lives are built on. Without that, there is nothing, because faith in itself is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Faith is reaching out for something when nothing is there.

The story is told in the Bible about Lot and his family and the city had turned so wicked that God destroys it; the Bible teaches because of homosexuality. The Bible calls it a sin. In this day we live in they call it an alternate lifestyle -- a choice you can make -- to live straight or gay.

When we are born we are born of a sinful nature and we grow up and each of us experiences different appetites of the flesh. What attracts or tempts one doesn't attract or tempt the other. We find all kinds of scientific, medical, and psychological reasons why we are the way we are, but in fact, all our wayward ways are based on the sinful nature. Our only hope is to ask God to restore to us a pure clean heart -- a new nature which is what in fact happens when you truly accept the Lord as your Savior.

You become a new creature. Old things pass away. Old desires of the flesh pass away; behold all things become new. Everything becomes new in your life. Sin is sin, but we must not hate the sinner. We have all sinned and come short of God's glory, because we are none perfect save Jesus Christ and He died on a cross for us so that we could be free from the power and bondage of sin.

Come to Christ now and let Him change your life. Won't you? In Jesus name, I pray. Amen!
