Porter Brown, son of Cread and Alicia Brown of Thomson, was two years old on Saturday, July 26, and celebrated with a fun-filled week.

His grandparents, Boots and Shirley Gunter, celebrated with him, his parents and brother, Luke, a t his home that night with a delicious grilled chicken meal with all the trimmings. For dessert they enjoyed his favorite strawberry cake and ice cream. The cake was made by his grandmother and has been a birthday favorite since his mother was a child.

On Wednesday, Porter's aunt and cousin, Allison and Isabelle Hale of Athens, spent the day with him in Thomson and the children had a great time on the Slip 'N' Slide and water slide.

Porter and his family left Thursday for a weekend trip to his paternal grandparents, Rufus and Angela Brown in Gainesville. They spent Friday at Unicoi State Park where he and Luke had a great time playing in the river, enjoying a picnic lunch in the beautiful park and hiking to Anna Ruby Falls. They spent the rest of the weekend with the Brown family, returning to Thomson on Sunday afternoon.
