James C. Ward completes basic training in Texas

James C. Ward James C. Ward James C. Ward graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Tex., Friday, August 1.

Present for the graduation as well as the Airman's Run and Coin Ceremony the day before were his family, Carol Palmer of Harlem, Steve Ward of Florida, Julia and Dennis Palmer of Washington, Carolan Odom of Uvalda, and Jack and Alex Sellers of Jacksonville, Fla.

After the Base activities, the party toured some of San Antonio's attractions including the Alamo and Riverwalk.

Airman First Class Ward's next duty station is Keesler Air Force Base at Biloxi, Miss., where he will receive technical training leading to the job of Air Traffic Controller.

He is a 2008 graduate of Harlem High School where he was a member of the ROTC program.
