Revival services will be held at the Pole Branch Missionary Baptist Church August 25-29, 7:30 p.m. The guest minister will be Rev. George L. Edwards of Thankful Baptist Church, Lincolnton.
Independence United Methodist Church, Tignall, will be having a healing service Sunday, August 24, 11 a.m.
The Word Bible Study Class Outreach Tent Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 415 Lexington Avenue, Washington. All apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, preachers, and teachers of the gospel are invited to give a 5-7 minute minisermon.
The Willingham and Barksdale family reunion will be held Friday, August 29, 8 p.m., beginning with an old school party in Winfield. On August 30 at 7 p.m., there will be a fish fry at the residence of Derrick and D'metric Barksdale, 4416 Thomson Hwy. There will be a dinner on Sunday, August 31, at 3 p.m. Tickets are available from family members.
Black Rock AME Church will have two nights of revival services. On Thursday, Evangelist Quanita Wilkinson from New Mercies, Lilburn, will deliver the message. Friday night, former pastor of Black Rock, Rev. Ronald Owens, New Bethel AME Church, will be the speaker.
There will be a Country Cooking Supper Saturday, September 6, 6-8 p.m., at Fishing Creek Baptist Church. Cost is $7.00 per plate for all you can eat. All proceeds go to charity.
The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1036 Lexington Road, will have a Bible class on the Book of Revelation every Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
The next meeting of the W-W Toastmasters Club will be held at the Mary Willis Library Monday, August 25, 6-7 p.m. Everyone 18 years of age and above is invited to attend. Membership is open and all are welcome.
Booker's Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate 57th anniversary of the senior and junior usher board Sunday, September 14, 4 p.m. The Guest speaker will be Daravious Cullars of Lincolnton. Refreshments will be served.
The Transforming Life Ministries 15th anniversary, the pastoral and birthday celebration of Amethyst D. Wynn, will be held September 28, 3 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Center. Special guests will be Bishop Jonathan Greer II, the Cathedral of Divine Love Church, Springfield Praise Dancers, and the Music Workshop Choirs of Minister Bryant Ware. Dinner will be served and the public is invited to attend.

The North Wilkes Steering Committee needs old pictures again this year. Graham Smith just gave the committee an old picture made circa 1905 of the students of Floral Hill School. I love the styles then and everyone wore a hat for this picture -- girls and boys.
The Tignall Homemakers Club will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the North Wilkes Library meeting room with Carolyn Gammon giving the program on writing your memoirs.
Don't forget Story Time next Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The book to be read will be Goldie Socks and the Three Libearians by Jackie Mims Hopkins. With this book there will be some library lessons to help children select a book from the library. Also, your child may want to check out the wonderful new books that have just been received at the North Wilkes Library. If there are older children who come to story time they will hear a few chapters of Almost Starring Skinny Bones.

Pompey's Chapel Baptist Church will have three nights of revival services August 25-27, 7:30 p.m. The guest speakers will be Rev. Lance Pitts, Monday; Rev. Bryant Ware, Tuesday; Rev. Demetrius Porter, Wednesday.
