Sardis Baptist Church had a good Sunday morning with George Pate as guest speaker in the absence of Rev. Jim Newsome. ƒJ.W. Boatwright is still staying in, resting quietly, and eating a strict diet. We are doing okay and still in need of your prayers. ƒPrayers are still continuing for Lila Edwards, Deena Boatwright, J.W. Boatwright, Kris Berry, George Casey, Ruby Arnold, Faye Johnson, Dorothy Callaway, Sallie Mae Arnold, Kathryn Padgett, Joyce Bowen, Eric Arnold, Linda Stevens, Nancy Moon, Cindy McCarty, Jimmy Poss, Susie Power, and Bonnie Boatwright. ƒSusie Power (Marshall Sherrer and Christine Wheatley's aunt) of Lincolnton is a patient in an Augusta hospital. ƒJames Wideman celebrated his 37th birthday and Laura Hester celebrated her 83rd birthday last week. ƒ Franklin Poss of Austell visited Johnny and Kathryn Shedd Sunday afternoon. ƒ Faye Johnson came from Gray to spend a few days with Ruby Arnold and her other sisters. Nell Hubbard took Faye to her doctor in Athens Monday. ƒWilda Boatwright and Sudie Kennedy went to Thomson to visit Hazel Webb. ƒ Avery Hall spent Friday night in Washington with Wes Tanner. ƒKris Berry had the misfortune to pull a tendon in her foot and had surgery at Athens Regional Medical Center. ƒBeatrice Sherrer of Washington and Billy and Doris Walker enjoyed supper Saturday evening with Mike and Debra Sherrer. Also joining them were Lindsay Sherrer, Whitney Sherrer, and Reese Brown. ƒFred Weidner joined Clyde and Sandy Whittington Sunday for supper with Neil and Kim Frankel, Zachery, Kyle and Bryce. They also enjoyed homemade strawberry ice cream. ƒThe Whittington sisters and brothers gathered at the Sandy Cross Cafe near Lexington for breakfast and family fellowship Wednesday morning. Enjoying this time together were Virgil and Emily Whittington, Calvin and Betty Whittington, Clyde and Sandy Whittington, Margie Rogers, Inez Moore, Esther Dawson, and Daisy Parker. ƒAnn Wideman visited Emilie Rorie at the Echols Home; Laura Hester at Heritage Health Care; Reba Hester at Washington Manor; Gene and Betty Winfrey, Brenda Irvin, Sherri Bowers, and Nell Bowers in Danburg, Louise Smith, Patsy Epps, and Kay Seymore in Tignall.
