Nuhfers girls receive honors for swimming accomplishments
Hope Ashley and Summer Nuhfer Hope Ashley and Summer Nuhfer, members of the Creekside Crocodiles Swim Team in the Greater Oconee Swim Association in Oconee County, have made the All- Star Swim Team and have placed in the district and state meets.
Hope Ashley, age eight, placed third in the backstroke at the county meet and fifth in the backstroke at the district competition. She also represented Oconee County in the state meet in backstroke where her relay team placed second. In addition she received the Most Improved Swimmer in the awards ceremony on August 4.
Summer, 12, placed fifth in the county in the 100-yard individual medley. She also represented Oconee County at the district meet in the medley relay swimming backstroke and the team won the second place medal. Her relay team also advanced to the state meeting in Tifton on July 25. Summer was honored with the Most Valuable Swimmer Award in the 11-12-year-old girls division at Creekside Country Club on August 4.
The girls are daughters of Mark and Tracie Vinson Nuhfer of Watkinsville, the granddaughters of Mitzie Vinson of Washington and Mike and Nancy Nuhfer of Pennsylvania and the great-granddaughters of Clarice Tyler and Inez Vinson of Washington.
