RAYLE NEWS
It was great to get back to church at Sardis Baptist Sunday after missing four Sundays. J.W. and I both had viruses and then I had some back problems. Everything is going better with us now and we're back into the swing of things. ƒWe had a good service at Sardis Sunday morning with a very informative sermon, "Surviving the Test," from Luke 4:1-13 by Rev. Jim Newsome. The congregational singing was led by Joyce Fry with Pam Hall playing the piano. The choir has been re-established and sounded wonderful. There were many praises and prayer requests given. The children were called to the altar for their message by the pastor. After this they went to the annex with Denise Armour and Jackson who assisted her for children's church. Several visitors were present and as always were very welcome. The Lord's Supper was served by the deacons after some very enlightening words about this by the pastor. He asked that we think about the Meaning of The Lord's Supper and to be thankful for the reason for it, the shed blood and the life given on the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ for our sins. He told that it is a gift from God and that we should remember this every time we eat bread. ƒWe had another great service at Sardis Sunday night. Rev. Andy Perryman, Director of Missions for the Georgia Baptist Association, and his wife Joni visited with us and Andy told about some things that are going on in the Association and with them. He also sang a beautiful song. We enjoyed having them. Rev. Jim Newsome brought the message. ƒPlease always remember the ones who are in need of prayer.
