Her daughter-in-law, Dianne, had arranged to have a family party at Ryans. They had a private section decorated so pretty. Elizabeth was surprised to see us and have her birthday party. Others with us were John and Dianne Fredella, their daughter Elizabeth, and her two small children. We all had a wonderful time. ƒJames had a good birthday on Thursday and extended through the weekend. On Thursday night at prayer time at Raytown Baptist Church they surprised us with a party to celebrate his 85th birthday. A large number of friends, including several from Tignall, were there. Thanks to Rev. and Mrs. Wade Palmer and Bobbie and Gene Wilson for all they did, and others who helped with the refreshments including a beautiful cake and ice cream. James and I both appreciate their love and all the things they do for us. ƒ Ed and Deborah Coxe and Edna Sherrer of Bennettsville came to spend the weekend and to celebrate James' birthday. They brought another beautiful cake and presents. We went out to eat Saturday night and on Sunday morning we all went to services at Raytown Baptist Church. They left Monday at noon to go home. We had a good time and hated to see them leave. ƒIris Dyson has a new great-granddaughter born August 25. Her parents are Kris and Tad Hopkins III of Eatonton. She weighed 8 lbs., 1 oz.
