DUIs, license problems lead August's arrest roundup
Stepped up enforcement efforts, including road checks on city and county streets, have resulted in a larger-than-usual number of arrests for DUI, drivers license violations, and drug charges, in addition to the month's other arrests.
Among the arrests related to driving under the influence of alcohol, the following incidents were recorded at the Wilkes County law enforcement center:
Cadetris Davis, 31, of Washington, was arrested August 3 by Washington Police and charged with DUI, failure to stop for a stop sign, and violation of the loud music law. He was released on $2,290 bond.
Ralf Hanosek, 36, of Wilkes County, was arrested August 2 by Washington Police and charged with DUI, driving without a license, and with improper backing. He was released on $2,184 bond.
Drendell Gartell, 46, of Tignall, was arrested August 2 by Washington Police and charged with DUI and with failure to drive in a single lane. He was released on $1,822 bond.
Alexander Corey, 37, of Conyers, was arrested August 17 by Washington Police and charged with DUI, driving while license withdrawn, and with giving a false name to police. He was released on $6,000 bond.
Kyle Milton Kitchens, 22, of Crawfordville, was arrested August 15 by a Georgia State Patrol trooper and charged with DUI and with violation of the child restraint seat belt law. He was released on $1,658 bond.
Kisher Zellars, 33, of Lincolnton, was arrested August 16 by Washington Police and charged with DUI, violation of the open container law, and with failure to drive within a single lane. She was released on a cash bond.
James Hendry III, 59, of Washington, was arrested August 14 by Washington Police and charged with DUI, and with violation of the open container law. He was released on $2,074 bond.
Everett Leroy Lyles, 57, of Springfield, Ga., was arrested August 2 by a Georgia State Patrol trooper and charged with DUI. He was released on a $666 cash bond.
Jesse N. Drinkard, 17, of Washington, was arrested August 2 by Washington Police and charged with DUI, violation of the loud music law, and with a learner's permit violation. He was released on $2,388 bond.
Darren Smith, 39, of Washington, was arrested August 1 by Washington Police and charged with driving in violation of a limited permit; driving while license withdrawn; violation of the open container law; misdemeanor possession of marijuana; and failure to stop for a stop sign. He was released on $3,788 bond.
Law enforcement road checks and other stops turned up numerous drivers without licenses, insurance, or other necessities:
Tommie L. Blackmon, 52, of Wilkes County, was arrested August 12 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with driving while license withdrawn, no insurance, and expired vehicle tag or decal. He was released on $2,500 bond.
Jason Brandon Scott, 36, of Bogart, was arrested August 8 by Washington Police and charged with driving while license is withdrawn, and with violation of the open container law. He was released on $1,872 bond.
Jefferson Demon Banks, 25, of Washington, was arrested August 8 by Washington Police and charged with driving while license is withdrawn, and with driving with no insurance.
John Willie Smith, 28, of Washington, was arrested August 8 by Washington Police and charged with driving while license is withdrawn. He was held on $1,426 bond.
Eddie Franklin Blackburn, 36, of Wilkes County, was arrested August 8 by Washington Police and charged with driving while license is withdrawn. He was released on $1,426 bond.
John Willie Blanchard, 56, of Elberton, was arrested August 14 by Washington Police and charged with driving while license is withdrawn, driving with no insurance, and with driving with an expired tag or vehicle. He was released to Elberton PD.
Charles Booker, 55, of Washington, was arrested August 14 by Washington Police and charged with driving while license is withdrawn. He was released on $1,426 bond.
Charles Acree, 26, of Stony Point, N.C., was arrested August 8 by Washington Police and charged with driving while license is withdrawn. He was released on $1,426 bond.
In other arrests, Robert Cullars, 24, of Rayle, was arrested August 1 by Wilkes Co. deputies and charged with felony violation of the controlled substances act; misdemeanor possession of dangerous drugs; and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was held on $56,000 bond.
Michael J. Edenfield, 34, of Warrenton, was arrested August 11 by Washington Police and charged with felony theft by taking; felony violation of the controlled substances act; and with felony transactions in drugrelated objects. He was released on $27,000 bond.
Robert L. Murray, 55, of Atlanta, was arrested August 4 by Wilkes Co. deputies and charged with felony burglary. He was held on $8,000 bond.
Ricardo C. Chapman, 24, of Wilkes County, was arrested August 6 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with theft by taking. He was released on $8,000 bond.
Jeremiah Cole Roberson, 26, of Tignall, was arrested July 31 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with battery (FVA). He was released on $3,500 bond.
Quincy Olando Curry, 29, of Washington, was arrested August 3 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with felony entering an auto with intent of felony; theft by taking; and driving while license is withdrawn. He was held on $9,000 bond.
Willie L. Cofer, 18, of Washington, was arrested August 21 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with forgery in the first degree. He was held on $4,500 bond.
Christopher L. Grant, 21, of Wilkes County was arrested August 16 by Washington Police and charged with aggravated assault; and with obstruction of an officer. He was held on $15,000 bond.
Curtis Bernard Turner, 52, of Washington, was arrested August 10 by Washington Police and charged with battery. He was released on $3,500 bond.
John Willie Smith, 28, of Washington, was arrested August 11 by Wilkes County deputies and charged with contempt of court (child support).
Alester H. Wilkinson, 52, of Washington, was arrested August 20 by Wilkes County deputies on a order to incarcerate for child support.
Mary Eve Moore, 46, of Washington, was arrested August 10 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. She was released on bond.
Dianne Cullars, 42, of Washington, was arrested August 21 by Washington Police and charged with public drunk. She was released on $566 bond.
