Union Junction Jamboree set September 27 in Union Point
The Union Junction Jamboree (UJJ) will be held on Saturday, September 27, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in downtown Union Point. Local Georgia artists will sell everything from folk and fine art to metal sculptures in a row of booths on Sibley Avenue throughout the day.
New vendor, Gil Glass of Winder, will have an array of glass work on display and for sale. The husband and wife team of artists, Craig and Kathleen Gil, are experts at fused glass. They produce dinner sets, candle holders, board games, and more in colorful glass art.
"We are so pleased to have new and exciting vendors joining our returning vendors," said Sherley Selman, UJJ chair. "It will keep interest growing every year."

The Point of Art Gallery & Studio on Sibley Avenue will have an as- sortment of affordable fine art, fun art, and folk art. There is a comprehensive collection of Greensboro's David Siffert's gouache paintings on display. New to the gallery is Jeffrey Waller of Eatonton and his unique intarsia form of art.
The metalwork of Joe Miles (left) and the glass work of new vendor Gil Glass of Winder (above) will be two of the special arts and crafts shown at the Union Junction Jamboree in Union Point next weekend. Alongside the arts and crafts exhibits, there will be live music featuring gospel, bluegrass, country/ western, and many old time favorites; a bike ride for children; and a model train exhibit.
The family-friendly Jamboree will also debut a play written by local artist Jan Whyllson about the history of Union Point. There will also be "train" rides around historic Union Point's residential area in a bus converted to look like a train.
