Funeral services for Alice Ree Head, 87, were held Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, Atlanta, with Dr. R.L. White Jr. officiating. Interment was in Kennedy Memorial Cemetery. She died September 10.

Mrs. Head was born in Mc- Donough, and was the daughter of the late Otis and Clara Glenn. After completing her primary education she went to work as a housekeeper for more than 30 years. She participated in various community service activities such as a voters poll worker, and tenant association president for Capitol Towers. She had been a member of the Antioch Baptist Church South and Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board.

Survivors include five daughters, Dixie Shepherd, Jeraldine Head, Gloristine Peek, Joyce McCrimons, and Shirley Patrick; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
