Richard Sikes, 80, of Lincolnton died September 9, 2008, in the McDuffie County Regional Medical Center, Thomson.

Mr. Sikes was a native of Springfield, Massachusetts, and was the son of the late Dorothy Hood. He served his county in the United States Army, was a Shriner, a Jaycee, and a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He was the retired proprietor of a retail nostalgia store.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Sikes; sons, Keith Sikes, Darrel Sikes, and Mark Sikes; stepchildren, Wanda Hall, Tonya Matthews, and Arthur Freeman; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
