September bride-elect Melody Gartrell of Conyers was guest of honor at a "Wishing Well Shower" on Saturday, August 30, given by her aunt, Dorothy Ann Norman, at her home in Lincolnton.

A prayer of unity was offered as the shower began.

For the occasion Miss Gartrell, bride-elect of Rodney Jones, wore a blue, black and white floral sundress.

The table was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The off-white cloth that covered the table was accented with a red overlay. A bouquet of orchids and greenery centered the table.

Guests enjoyed hot wings, meatballs, turkey sandwiches, potato salad, chips and dip, fruit, chocolate chip cookies, Red Velvet cake and punch.

Celebrating the occasion with the bride-elect were her mother, Cora Gartrell of Washington; also Peggy Wells, Patricia Wright, Bobbie Mercier, Phyllis Harris, Lucille Norman, Deana Parks, Chelsea Norman, all of Lincolnton; Madison Gunby of Hinesville; Maxine Gardenhire of Dacula; Christie Wilder of Grovetown; Kim Jackson, Patti Booker, Dyann Jackson, Toi Jackson, and Dauri Binns, all of Washington.
