Melody Gartrell guest of honor kitchen shower
Melody Gartrell of Conyers, bride-elect of Rodney Jones, also of Conyers, was entertained at a kitchen shower on Saturday, September 6, at Club 44 in Washington, given by her matron of honor, Felisha Echols, and bridesmaids, Coretta Miller and Nikeyia Jones of Washington; and Christie Wilder of Grovetown.
Miss Gartrell chose an ivory baby doll dress embroidered with black rose designs and accented with black jewelry accessories. Mrs. Echols pinned a corsage of daisies to the spaghetti-strapped design.
As guest arrived, they registered in the bride's book placed on a table decorated with magnolia leaves and rose petals.
The tables for the bride and her guests were covered in white. Each was centered with magnolia leaves and red and ivory candles. Red and silver sprinkles adorned the tables with red rose petals.
Guests enjoyed refreshments of wings, chicken salad with crackers, pasta salad, Mexican salad, hot wings, meatballs, deviled eggs and punch. A sheet cake, decorated in red and ivory, was topped with "Congratulations Melody" and cornered with red roses.
Celebrating with the bride-elect and her hostesses were her mother, Cora Gartrell and the prospective bridegroom's mother, Nadine Jones, both of Washington; Doreesa Gresham, Patti Booker, Belinda Booker, Peggy Wynn, Keyona Wynn, Anissa Booker and Shameka Tutt of Washington; Loretta Scott of Athens; NicCole Newcomb of Austell; Tonya Byrd, Kay Wilder and Joy Lewis of Augusta; and Patreda Dunn of Lithonia.
