Tiger Cross Country runners compete in two meets on the road, will host 4-way on Mon.

The W-WCHS Cross Country Tigers are off to a running start with team members including Blake Amis, Angela Broome, Jacob Davis, Evan Harrison, Erika Jefferson, Kotey McCall, Joshua McLeroy, John Pope, Nick Reville, Chase Shelton, and Rashida Watson. Middle School Cross Country team members are Dominique Jenkins, Keyunna Reid, and Ivy Safrit. The coaches are Ann Harrison and Tanya Morgan.
The team began its 2008 season at the Northeast Georgia Cross Country Meet at Athens Christian on August 30. Top runners for Washington were Jacob Davis, Joshua McLeroy, and Evan Harrison. Angela Broome was the top runner for the girls team.
The next meet was at Elbert County High School on Tuesday, September 9. The team competed against Elbert County, Hart County, Franklin County, and Stephens County. Top W-WCHS male runners for this event were Jacob Davis and Joshua McLeroy, each improving his previous time by one minute. They placed 18th and 19th at the event. Erika Jefferson was the top runner for the girls team.
The Tigers' next Cross Country meet is scheduled for Monday, September 22, at W-WCHS when the team will host Thomson, GMC, and Franklin County beginning at 4:30 p.m.
