Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McCarty were on vacation and spent the week at Lake Blackshear. They enjoyed fishing, boating, and just resting. On Wednesday their supper guests were Gail Hammock, Edward Hammock, and Joy Hammock of Hope, Alaska, who was spending two months with her mother and brother. Later in the week Pam helped Gail with the preparations of the wedding of Edward Hammock and Lindsay Scott. On Friday night Gail hosted the rehearsal dinner at Lakeside Marina at Lake Blackshear. The beautiful wedding was held outside in the garden of Aubry Rowland in Cordele. The reception followed at Idlewood Country Club at Warwick. They were happy to have several aunts and uncles, other relatives and family friends to come for the wedding. ƒMonday, my birthday, was a busy day. James and I attended a memorial service for Billy Garbutt, husband of Betty June Bacon Garbutt, at Warrenton Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Rev. Wade Palmer assisted in the service. Later we and two other couples were guests of Rev. and Mrs. Palmer for lunch in Warrenton ƒMonday afternoon, James and I were among many who attended the annual Georgia Baptist Association event for seniors held at the White Plains Baptist Church. We enjoyed the entertainment of "Maxie, the Preacher's Wife." Pat Bobo is in charge of planning the programs and everyone always enjoys them. Sandwiches and desserts were served in the fellowship hall and that evening at Raytown Baptist Church a spaghetti supper was served before revival services began. By the time we got home Monday night we were quite full and so tired. ƒ The revival services at Raytown Baptist Church were well attended each evening and supper was served every night. On Wednesday night, a fish fry with all the trimmings was enjoyed. The church was completely full. The men from Penfield Christian Home came and they sang "Victory In Jesus." "The Apostles," a singing group, also sang several songs. ƒMegan Turner and Harrison of Elberton visited Iris Dyson Friday afternoon. ƒMrs. Juanita Bradford and Trudy Sutherland visited Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford in Thomson Friday.

ƒSue Davis spent Thursday with Faye Scoggins at the University Hospital while her husband Bill was in surgery. He is doing well, Sue visited Lois and Coryer Poss Friday night. ƒMike and Cindy Blaine of Buford visited Scott and Janet Blaine Sunday afternoon. Tim Worley of Athens visited that evening. Sue Davis also visited Sunday evening. ƒCharlie Branham spent Saturday night with Benjamin Hodges. ƒ"It is not only what we do, but what we don't do, for which we are accountable."
