Funeral services for Elsie Irene Quarles, 71, of Lincolnton were held Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at Jones Chapel with Rev. Wade Palmer officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Saturday, September 27.

Mrs. Quarles was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County and was a retired textile worker.

Survivors include two daughters, Beth Goolsby of Washington, and Joyce Danhirao and her husband Gopal of Lincolnton; two sons, Thomas Edward Quarles and Bobby Lee Quarles of Lincolnton; three brothers, James Robert Dill, Lincolnton, Steve Elton Dill and Grady Dill of Augusta; 11 grandchildren, LeRoy Harley, Edward Harley, Lisa Smith, Shannon Davis, Christopher Quarles, Kyle Quarles, Megan Quarles, Clay Williamson, Christopher Lee Quarles, and Brady Quarles; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Al Young, Charles Dornburg, Frank Freeland, Frank Bentley, Wyatt Holsenback, Bob Norman, Fred H. Ingram III, Thomas Quarles, and Frankie Jones.

Rees Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
