Mt. Zion United Methodist Church to hold revival services Oct. 5-8
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church will be having its revival October 5-8 at 7 p.m. each evening. There will be special music each night and a meal on Sunday and Wednesday at 6 p.m. Rev. Thomas Moon will be preaching
Rev. Moon is the pastor of Bethany Pine Grove United Methodist Charge in Lincolnton. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Emory's Candler School of Theology. He has served the Crawford- Center-Cherokee Charge in the Athens-Elberton district, Philadelphia UMC in the Atlanta-Decatur- Oxford district, Midway UMC in the Griffin district, and Carnesville- Vanna UMC in the Athens-Elberton district.
While at Carnesville-Vanna, he served on the District Board for Small Membership Churches. He also served as chaplain at the Ty Cobb Hospital in Royston, a volunteer for Cornerstone Ministries, and a member of the Carnesville Lions Club.
Moon and his wife, Mary Brown Moon, are both of Elberton. They have three children and six grandchildren. They were members of Coldwater UMC in Elbert County. Before entering the Ordained Ministry, Rev. Moon polished granite. Some hobbies enjoyed by the family are vegetable gardening and fishing.
Rev. Richard Broom is the pastor of Mt. Zion, Bethel, and Smyrna Churches. Rev. Broom and the congregation invite all to each service. Mt. Zion is located on Hwy 80 past the golf course.
