The Washington Little Theater Annual Gala will be held Saturday, October 11, 5:30 p.m. BEFORE the performance of "Cat On a Hot Tin Roof" at 8 p.m. The Gala will be held at Lafayette Manor on East Robert Toombs Avenue.

The annual Rotary Pancake Supper will be held on Friday, November 7, 5 p.m., at the Washington-Wilkes Elementary School on East Street. Tickets are available from any member of the club and will be available at the door.

ƒ New Saints CME Church will have a missionary anniversary program on October 12, 2 p.m. with Minister Bryant Ware of Athens as guest speaker.

The Robert Toombs House Historic Site has a new schedule for being open to the public. The site is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and closed on Monday and Tuesday.

The Friends of the Mary Willis Library will meet Thursday, October 9, 3 p.m., at the library.

New Saints CME Church, 515 Baltimore Road, Washington, will hold October SNAP meetings Saturday, October 11 and October 18, at 10 a.m.

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church will present its annual youth day program October 12, 2:30 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Cullars of Lincoln County.

Rev. Joseph Hurley will be the guest speaker at True Fellowship Church October 12, at 3:30 p.m.

The Nancy C. Long Golf Tournament sponsored by Eta Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, will be held Saturday, October 25, at noon, at the Washington- Wilkes Country Club. There will be a $50 golfer's fee per player and sign-up is at the Country Club. Christ City of Prayer will have its annual "Woman Thou Art Loose, Shackled No More" program October 26, at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Vickie Turman of Faith Christian Center.

The Wilkes County Board of Health will meet Friday, October 24, 11 a.m., at the Health Department on Gordon Street.

The youth ministry of the Lincolnton First Baptist Church will have a pre-pastor's anniversary celebration October 27-31, 7:30 p.m., with different speakers each night.

There will be a Country Cooking Supper at Fishing Creek Baptist Church Saturday, October 18, 6-8 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults; $4 for children. All proceeds go to charity.

The Wilkes County Branch NAACP is making preparation for the annual "Awareness Banquet" to be held November 1, 6 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Mission Center, 219 McLendon Drive, Washington. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased by calling Rachel Jackson at 706-678- 7183. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Melvin Adams, president of the 10th District of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia. Tickets will also be available at the door.
