Bring your best

Frankly, I don't know what's happening! It seemed like folks used to try and out-dress each other and now I think they are trying to see who can dress the sloppiest. Oh well! Say what you please, but I still think that it's part of that rebellious nature mankind has. They are always rebelling agains t something or someone.

Do what you please, but it's like my aunt said, "Some church folks don't show any respect or reverence for the house of God because they act like they're out in the woods and dress like they're going fishing or to the beach." And she said, "Oh, I know about the old days. I came up in the church with flour sack dresses and overalls, but folks wore their best back then to the Lord's house.

Now, everyone can afford better, but some don't bring their best." Then she asked, "These blue jeans and overalls now cost as much if not more than a nice set of dress clothes."

Now that's what my aunt said. Reckon what God would say. Well! When Abel brought his sacrificial offering he brought his best and God was pleased, but when his brother Cain brought his offering he brought less than the best, so you go figure.

If your total best is a pair of jeans, then wash them, iron them, patch them and tuck your shirt tail in and bring your best. Can you say amen?
