Tigers keep game close but Devils get away with win, 6-14
      On Friday, October 17, the Washington Wilkes Tigers traveled to neighboring Lincoln County to take on the Red Devils in the annual "378 War." The game was close, with Lincoln County coming out on top by a score of 14-6. The Tigers kicked the ball off to start a rain-soaked battle.

Nancy C. Long golf tournament start time advanced to 10 a.m.
      Hosted by the Eta Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, the Nancy C. Long Golf Tournament - "Playing FORE the Cure" - will be held on Saturday, October 25, at 10 a.m. at the Washington-Wilkes Country Club. There will be a $50 golfer's fee per player and players may sign up at the Country Club.

W-W Little League sets organizational meeting for Nov. 11
      There will be a Washington-Wilkes Little League meeting Tuesday, November 11, at 6 p.m. in the upstairs office at Ashley Park. Anyone who wishes to participate in the upcoming 2009 Little League season is invited to attend. Officers will be elected and there will be a general planning meeting for the season.
