The Nancy C. Long Golf Tournament sponsored by Eta Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, will be held Saturday, October 25, at noon, at the Washington- Wilkes Country Club. There will be a $50 golfer's fee per player and sign-up is at the Country Club. The Robert Toombs House Historic Site has a new schedule for being open to the public. The site is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and closed on Monday and Tuesday.

The Wilkes County Branch NAACP is making preparation for the annual "Awareness Banquet" to be held November 1, 6 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Mission Center, 219 McLendon Drive, Washington.
