Bring your chairs and come to the Rayle Ramble Saturday and spend the day and meet new friends, and renew acquaintances. It will begin at 10 a.m. Local singers will be featured throughout the day with country star Terri Gibbs, the Pearly Gates and other singers coming to fill the air with beautiful country, hip hop and gospel songs. The Rayle Fire Department will have its famous barbecued chicken plates and for tickets call Jason Echols at 706-274- 3350. Hamburgers will also be available along with many other food vendors with a variety of food to choose from. The Country Store is a popular attraction with homemade cakes, pies, cookies, candy, canned pickle, relish, jelly, and many other specialties. Bingo will begin at 1 p.m. Many children's activities are planned to keep them busy. There will be a petting zoo, bounce house, slide, train ride, an obstacle course, more things than ever for the children. There will be something for everyone. See you there. ƒThe prayer list continues for the family of Joyce Bowen, the family of Larry Chapman, the family of Kathryn Padgett, Lamar Berry, Marshall Sherrer, Mary Hawes, Manuel Wheatley, Doris Walker, Ann Williamson, George Casey, Kris Berry, Joan Echols, Teresa Fry, Shane Echols, Doris Walker, Ann Crittenden, Dorothy Callaway, Sallie Mae Arnold, Denise Adams Blaschke, Helen Hall Price, Avola Callaway, Robert and Edythe Harper, Priscilla Maxwell, Linda Stevens, Nancy Moon, Cindy McCarty, J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright. There are so many others who need prayer and we pray for them in their needs also. ƒCrystal Booth Byrom of Commerce, formerly of Rayle, was honored with a lovely miscellaneous baby shower Saturday, October 4, in the fellowship hall of Rock United Methodist Church in Rayle. The room was beautifully decorated using a blue theme and a banner, "It's a Boy." Hostesses for the occasion were Kristy Booth, Jennifer Glenn, and Robbie Hubbard. Guests enjoyed an assortment of delicious foods from a table decorated with a flower arrangement in the center. Crystal excitedly opened her many nice and useful gifts. A large crowd of family and friends attended. ƒManuel Wheatley was scheduled for a heart catherization Tuesday morning. We are wishing him well and our prayers go out for a good outcome. ƒClyde and Sandy Whittington went to Crawford Saturday morning to watch grandsons, Zachery and Kyle Frankel, play in a soccer game in which they won. ƒAvery Hall visited Clyde and Sandy Whittington Friday evening. ƒ Kim Frankel, Zachery, Kyle, and Bryce enjoyed Sunday dinner with Clyde and Sandy Whittington while Neil was at work. ƒJ.W. and Bonnie Boatwright enjoyed going to a meet and eat party Saturday at the home of Larry and Sarah McPherson in Aonia. We enjoyed the bountiful buffet and the fellowship of many friends and meeting new friends. We had a great time. ƒFrances Fendley and Joan Perez went to watch little Greg Glenn play football Tuesday and are happy to report that Greg's team won. ƒRichard Burkett, Joan Perez and Frances Fendley went over to Greensboro Wednesday to watch Richard's grandson, Coby, play on the winning team in a football game. ƒAmber Armour celebrated her 17th birthday Monday, October 20, and was honored with a family dinner at the home of her grandparents, Bobby and Debra Armour. Attending to help Amber celebrate along with Bobby and Debra were three of her friends and other family members, Frances Fendley, Chris and Heather Armour, Rebecca and Raeleigh, Dwayne Armour, Richard Burkett, Joan Perez, Phil Morgan, and his daughter. ƒMany friends and relatives gathered at the home of Tracy and Denise Armour, Justin, Ethan, and Jackson, Sunday for a wonderful barbecue and family fun and fellowship. All the Wheatley family and all the Armour family and friends were invited. ƒVisiting Mrs. Carl Sisson Saturday of Columbus Day weekend were Mr. and Mrs. David Sisson and Jessica of Douglasville and Mrs. Robert McAvoy of Austell. Mrs. McAvoy stayed for a longer visit with Mrs. Sisson while David and family took in Mule Day and enjoyed browsing around Downtown Washington. They had enjoyed a visit with the Dan McAvoys that morning. ƒTrey Berry enjoyed going to the UGAVanderbilt game Saturday in Athens and was thrilled that the Dawgs won. ƒMary Grace Owen, Fallon Owen, and Gracie of Rossman, N.C., spent the weekend with Ruby Arnold. ƒBonnnie Boatwright enjoyed Sunday dinner with Lamar and Kay Berry, Trey Berry, and Kaitlyn and Bryson Porter. ƒHaley Hill Chafin, Amber Armour, and Alex Avery enjoyed going to the fair Friday and to Mule Day Saturday. The girls spent Friday night with Haley and Haley spent Saturday night with Alex. All of them attended a birthday celebration for Amber Armour Sunday. ƒRocky Nation celebrated his birthday October 6 at a nice dinner with family and friends. ƒKenny Prak, Tommy Fong, Ricky Donagon, Mack Chafin, and Blake Arnold spent the weekend with Troy and Shirley Chafin. John Boze also visited. Terri, Domingo, Ronnie, Racquel, and Bobby Brown joined them for supper Sunday evening. ƒRonnie Chafin has been in Wyoming deer hunting with friends and called home to report that he killed a 225 pound, eight point mule deer. ƒWilda Boatwright and Sudie Kennedy went over to the Greene-Point Nursing Home one day to visit Joan Lewis and Frances Nash. ƒMarshall and Mablean Sherrer visited Mary Hawes at Wills Memorial Hospital Sunday. ƒBill and Hope Remsen and Delaney spent several days with Peggy Echols and Johnny Adams. ƒLamar Berry is still being tested and will find out this week when his surgery is going to be. Prayers are for Lamar and his family during this time.
