Artemis Eaton honored at first birthday party
Artemis Willow Eaton, daughter of Ulysses and Linda Eaton of Guyton, celebrated her first birthday with a party at her home October 18.
Excitement was in the air as the children arrived to help Artemis enjoy her "Cow Girl" theme festivities.
Artemis wore a red and white check jumper suit complete with cow on the front. She also donned a pink cowgirl hat and presented pink cowgirl hats to the girls and brown cowboy hats to the boys who celebrated with her.
The afternoon was full of activities including pony rides and a petting zoo involving a baby kangaroo, fluffy chicken, bunny rabbits, turtles, baby python as well as others.
Refreshments were enjoyed with fun finger foods topped off with barbecue, coleslaw, baked beans and rolls.
The special event was blowing out the candle on a Bambi birthday cake while Artemis had her own little cake in the shape of the numeral "1". Homemade blueberry ice cream was also served.
Afterwards "Papa Ulysses" gave a hayride with everyone sitting on bales of hay as he pulled them around the field behind his fourwheeler. To end the event Artemis's uncle Pierce Giltner, played his banjo while everyone sang songs around an open bonfire while sitting on bales of hay.
Eighteen children and 34 adults were present to enjoy the afternoon. Special guests were Jim and Kathy Criglia with children, Katie and Garret, from Raleigh, N.C.; her cousin Pearl with her parents, Pressly and Pierce Giltner from Bluffton; and her paternal grandparents, Rod and Pam Eaton of Washington.
