Ava Madeline Hendry, daughter of Gordon and Amanda Hendry of Braselton, celebrated her first birthday with a party at the home of her maternal grandparents, Bruce and Tina Bailey, in Washington on Saturday October 11th. Ava turned one year old on October 15th.

A Baby Einstein theme was carried out in the party festivities. Ava enjoyed her very own Baby Einstein cake all to herself while other guests enjoyed a larger version. Both cakes were made by Karen Saggus.

The dining room was decorated in bright bold colors and filled with helium balloons. Guests placed their gifts on the granite bar as they entered the home. A large "Happy Birthday" sign hung from the archway.

In addition to the cake, ice cream, chips and dip, cheese log and crackers, several snack mixes and miniature pimento cheese sandwiches were served.

Those attending in addition to Ava's parents and maternal grandparents were grandparents, James and Jan Walters, and aunt, Jillian Walters, all of Elberton; maternal great-grandparents, Martin and Marie Bagwell of Kings Mountain, NC, and Bob and Carol Walters of Elberton; Marty, Lynn, Kyle and Landon Bagwell, as well as Alex Evans and Lindsey Herring of Elberton, Dawn Matthews, MaKayla, Dorian, Malasia and Jaylen, Dr. Nadine Halliburton-Foster, Alex and Davony Foster, and aunt, Lynsey Walters of Washington. Special guest was great-great grandmother Louise Bagwell of Washington whose 86th birthday is October 19th. Her birthday was celebrated as well allowing five generations to be present.

Among the special gifts Ava received was a picture storybook of her first year of life made by her grandmother Tina Bailey.
