Donates for breast cancer awareness

Washington-Wilkes Primary School Principal Florence Sandifer presents a check for $700 to Tiffani Andrews, a represntative of Beta Sigma Phi and a breast cancer survivor in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Annually, the school joins with Beta Sigma Phi to raise awareness and funds with activities and observances like dress-down week. The school has been affected by breast cancer, Sandifer said, and has several survivors on the staff, and takes great effort to distribute information and educate others about the disease. All funds raised are donated to the sorority in the name of Nancy C. Long, a former sorority member and teacher at the primary school.
