The annual Rotary Pancake Supper will be held on Friday, November 7, 5 p.m., at the Washington-Wilkes Elementary School on East Street. Tickets are available from any member of the club and will be available at the door.

The Washington Presbyterian Church will hold fall services on November 7-9, 6 p.m. each evening. There will be a different leader for each service. The Sunday evening service will be preceded by a potluck supper at 5 p.m.

The men of the First United Methodist Church will have chicken barbecue dinners for sale in the church's old fellowship hall on Saturday, November 15. Cost is $7.00 per plate, eat in or take out.

The Wilkes County Branch NAACP is making preparation for the annual "Awareness Banquet" to be held November 1, 6 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Mission Center, 219 McLendon Drive, Washington. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased by calling Rachel Jackson at 706-678-7183. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Melvin Adams, president of the 10th District of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Independence United Methodist Church, Tignall, will be providing a free pancake breakfast to the first 100 people on the morning of the Tignall Fall Festival, November 1, beginning at 8 a.m.

The Robert Toombs House Historic Site has a new schedule for being open to the public. The site is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and closed on Monday and Tuesday.

The Washington-Wilkes Bands have begun their annual sale of citrus fruit from Florida. The sale will help support the band's expenses for traveling to football games and festivals. Delivery will be in mid-December.
