Tignall's Fall Festival begins this Saturday featuring lots of activities, entertainment
The Seventh Annual I'd Rather Be in Tignall Fall Festival will begin Saturday morning, November 1, at 10 o'clock.
The festival is held each year on Independence Street in Tignall at the old school grounds. There will be live music all day with an old-fashioned cake walk beginning at 10:15; bingo from 11:00 to 12:30 and again at 1:30. The Kids Fashion Show will be at 10:45 a.m. and hayrides begin at 11:00
Door prizes will be given at every hour and winners of the picnic table, quilt, and candy corn contest will be announced at 3 p.m.
If it's food you want there will be barbecue, funnel cakes, cheesy fries, hotdogs and hamburgers, fried pies, the Homemakers' famous vegetable soup, and of course Rock Evans' boiled peanuts.
Many people will enjoy taking a trip down memory lane at the old photo display in the lunchroom. So far there are 30 vendors and there may be more by the time of the festival.
Come on out and enjoy visiting with old and new friends. Bring your children to have fun with all the activities for the children, including face painting, hayride, horseback riding, petting zoo, moonwalk and slide, striker, and the putting green.
Prior to the festival, the Independence United Methodist Church will be serving pancakes and sausage to the early arrivals and workers. Tignall Mayor Richard Gammon will open the festival. Rev. Edward Andrews will give the invocation and Amanda Range will sing the National Anthem.
