Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School's annual induction ceremony for the W-WCHS Chapter of the National Honor Society was held on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

Seventeen new members were selected by a faculty council on the basis of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

The National Honor Society, founded in 1921, is one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students, with chapters established in three-fourths of the nation's high schools.

"We congratulate our new members on their accomplishments and know they will continue their exemplary contributions to the school and the community," said Dr. Margaret Sloan, academic advisor.
