Funeral services for Mabel Mae Danner Powell Guin, 92, of Washington were held Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Rehoboth Baptist Church, Metasville, with Rev. Herman Bradley and Rev. Steve Rayner officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Wednesday, October 22, at Heritage Health Care Wilkes, Washington.

Mrs. Guin was a native of Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Franklin Wilson Danner and Daisy Elizabeth Lewis Danner. She was the widow of Stanley Guin and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. She had retired as a seamstress from Royal Manufacturing Company, Washington.

Survivors include a son, Bobby Powell of Tignall; a daughter, Irene Echols, and her husband, Marion Echols, of Washington; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Mike Wheatley, Herman Wheatley, Douglas Wheatley, Ricky Danner, Billy Echols, and Bernie Henderson.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
