Teams of property appraisers have already begun the job of revaluing the county's smaller (under 30 acres) tracts of land and residential properties and Wilkes County Chief Tax Assessor Ramona Powell is reminding residents that the work will continue for several months.
"Appraisers will be out in the county measuring buildings and property and we don't want people to be caught off guard when they see them," she said. Workers from the appraisal firm of Kenneth Voss and Associates of Atlanta will be provided with ID badges while they are on the job.
