Iris Dyson spent Friday night in Elberton with Charles and Amelia Hopkins, going especially to attend the celebration of her great-grandson, Harrison Turner's sixth birthday. Others joining them for the party that evening were his parents, Megan and Justin Turner, and a number of his friends. ƒMr. and Mrs. Bill Scoggins and Stephanie of Augusta visited Sue Davis Sunday afternoon. We are glad Bill has recovered from his surgery and is able to be out. ƒPam McCarty and Angie Strother made a business trip to Atlanta Tuesday. ƒVisiting Scott and Janet Blaine Friday afternoon were Mike and Cindy Blaine and that night Tim Worley of Athens visited. Paul and Lynn Duffy of Hoschton were supper guests Saturday night. Sue Davis also visited Saturday afternoon. ƒJames and I went to Martinez Thurs- day. He stayed with our grandson, Philip Hayden, while Agnes went with me to Doctors Hospital for minor tests. Carl and Ryan came home briefly for lunch. ƒ Pam McCarty visited Cheryle Holsclaw Friday evening. ƒMrs. Juanita Bradford, Trudy Sutherland and Brad went to Anderson, S.C., Saturday and spent time at the Jockey Lot and had lunch at Ryans. On Sunday they visited the Jockey Lot in Augusta. ƒWhitney Branham was among the Tiger Marching Band members who participated in the "Grand Old South Marching Band" competition held in Atlanta and hosted by the Newnan High School Marching Band Saturday. ƒJames and I attended special services at Raytown Baptist Church Sunday night. We watched a video of Dr. Charles Stanley preaching a wonderful message from II Chronicles, then spent an hour in prayer for the coming election. Our country is in a terrible condition and we need new and strong leadership. By the time you read this we will have a new President and the man who wins will need our prayers and our country needs God's help. ƒWe live in the Land of the Free only because of the Brave.
