Cedar-lined chest to be awarded Dec. 1

The unique cedar-lined solid oak hope chest shown above is now on display at Farmers State Bank in Washington, where it may be viewed at any time during the bank's regular hours. The remarkable chest will be awarded to a lucky ticket holder December 1 by the Washington Lions Club. Posing with the prize chest are Branch Manager Donna W. Bufford and Lion Willard Lance. It is hand-crafted and donated to the club by Lion

Bobby West, who was blinded by shrapnel during combat in the Vietnam War. Tickets are $1 each and are available from any Lions Club member and wherever the chest is shown before the drawing. It was moved to its present location November 4 from the main office of the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Washington.
