Funeral services for Claude Anderson, 78, were held Friday, October 31, 2008, in McLendon Memorial Chapel, Washington, with Rev. H.M. Easley officiating. Interment was in Reeves Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. He died October 23 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Anderson was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Rev. Eddie Anderson and Willie D. Anderson. He was a member of Reeves Chapel Baptist Church. He joined the United States Armed Forces in 1951 and served for two years.

Survivors include a son, Reginald Hatten of Atlanta; a brother, Eddie Anderson Jr.; four sisters, Katie DuBurke, Brooklyn, N.Y., Mary Ellen Anderson, Atlanta, Eva Fortson, Tignall, and Eunice Erskine, Tampa, Fla.

Pallbearers included Michael Anderson, Bill Bailey, Willie Frank Buford, Linon Fortson, Quincy Fortson, and Ashley Heard.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
