The Sam and Annie Ruth Dye Rhodes family reunion was held Sunday, October 19, at the home of Chan and Phyllis Rhodes Drake on the Thomson Road. The date commemorated the anniversary date of the Rhodes' marriage, October 19, l921.

Their children in attendance were Nita Edwards Riley, Jack Rhodes, Frances Marion (Bubba) Rhodes, Peggy Callaway, Freddie Rhodes, Charles Rhodes, Olivia Norman, Glenn Rhodes and Phyllis Drake. Children, Jenny Ruth Lindsey and Sam Rhodes, are deceased.

The family and guests assembled for the day of fellowship and dinner of barbecue pork and stew, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, fried apple, peach and sweet potato pies and a delicious assortment of desserts.

Serving tables were covered with rust and brown cloths and decorated with autumn arrangements. Other tables were covered in brown cloths with grapevine wreaths decorated with autumn leaves and wrought iron lantern centerpieces.

Ferns and chrysanthemums were used throughout the yard.
