SAR members talk about Kettle Creek

Charlie Newcomer and Larry Wilson, members of The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), were the guest speakers at the regular meeting of the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, October 28. Newcomer and Wilson discussed the plans for the celebration of The Battle of Kettle Creek at War Hill, Wilkes County, on February

14, 2009. They strongly encouraged member participation and also discussed other Revolutionary War battle celebrations in Georgia and South Carolina. They showed a DVD of the SAR's participation at these respective celebrations. Lillie Crowe (left) was the program host for the day.
